Caskets unearthed on Albany street.

Several caskets were uncovered today as construction workers began to tear up Delaware Ave.

The $15 million dollar federal stimulus project will be put on hold as archeologists begin to examine the unearthed wooden tombs.

Archeologist Michael Warner says it is not clear yet how many tombs are on site, but no skeletal remains have yet been found.

The strip of road on Delaware is in the area of a where a Roman Catholic cemetary was located in 1910, officials are looking into the links between the two.
