Casie Cathrea takes medalist honors in SF City Championship

Livermore teen Casie Cathrea, 17, took medalist honors in the Women’s Championship Division of the San Francisco City Golf Championship today at Harding Park Golf Course. Her 3-under-par score of 70 bested the next-nearest finishers, Chloe Corriveau of Pebble Beach and Aman Sangha of San Mateo, by four strokes.

Cathrea, a home-schooled high school senior who will play college golf for Oklahoma State University next fall, will face St Francis High School (Mt View) senior Nancy Xu Sunday morning in the first round of match play, teeing off at 7:40 AM at Harding Park. The match play portion of the tournament will conclude next weekend.

Cathrea previously took co-medalist honors in the event in 2011, tying for stroke play honors with San Jose’s Hannah Suh.
