Casey Anthony turns mom away, concerns rise

The actions of Casey Anthony continue to create concern for those watching this high-profile case.

After her conviction on four counts of lying to law enforcement officials and sentencing on Thursday, as well as aquittal of all charges related to the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony, Casey kept a low profile once she was returned to the prison where she will continue her sentence through next week. Judge Belvin Perry gave her the maximum penalty for each count of lying to police officers, giving her one year for each count. With good behavior, which in the state of Florida means five days credit for each 30 served, as well as work-related time credit, Anthony will be free to leave prison by July 17. She has not much more than $300 in her bank prison account, the only money she seemingly has once she leaves the jail.

While she met with members of her defense team on Friday, including lead attorney Jose Baez, she flatly denied her mother's request for a video chat with her daughter.

Many question why Anthony is turning her mother, Cindy Anthony, away at this crucial time. Considering that her mother's testimony on the stand may have assisted the 12 jurors in finding Casey Anthony not-guilty based on lack of evidence, allegeldy, this seems an odd manuever from the 25-year-old. It was a surprise to the court of public opinion as well as media pundits when Cindy Anthony said it was she who looked up chloroform and chest injuries on the family's home computer, even though her time card showed she was logged in to her computer at her office space.

It will be a frenzy of facts when Casey Anthony walks out of jail next week, with no one truly knowing where she intends to land once free. People magazine has the latest updates available as they come to light on this compelling case.
