The Casey Anthony movie premiering later this month is serving to keep the high-profile case in the spotlight. "Prosecuting Casey Anthony" will make its prime-time debut on Jan. 18 on Lifetime. According to a Jan. 1, 2013 report by Business Insider, "'Prosecuting Casey Anthony' will take a look at the case through the prosecutor's eyes."
The Casey Anthony movie is based on Jeff Ashton's book about the case. Handsome actor Rob Lowe portrays Ashton in the film.
The title role in the Casey Anthony movie is played by Virgina Welch. The beautiful brunette is taking a risk by portraying the accused killer, who was acquitted of the murder of her daughter Caylee. It was recently revealed that Anthony may have performed a Google search for "fool-proof" suffocation methods. Suffocation was misspelled. The search took place on the last day that two-year-old Caylee was seen alive. Although the sheriff's office failed to discover the search, Anthony's own attorneys were aware of it.
Casey Anthony has largely remained out of the public eye since her 2011 acquittal. However, a woman meeting her description was spotted eating chicken wings at a restaurant in Florida last month. The woman bore a striking resemblance to the former defendant, and eyewitness testimony claimed the woman in question was in the company of Patrick McKenna, a West Palm Beach private detective who worked on Anthony’s defense. McKenna has also been rumored to have a role in keeping Anthony hidden from public view.
