There are new developments and updates in the case against Casey Anthony. Latest news reports state that attorneys for the three people suing Casey Anthony were in a Tampa bankruptcy court, urging Judge Rodney May to allow their suits to continue, despite Anthony’s recent bankruptcy filing. David Schrader represents Anthony and has stated that the proposed October 2013 date set for Anthony to give a sworn deposition in a civil suit doesn’t work for his client. Roy Kronk, Zenaida Gonzalez and Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch have each filed civil suits against the Florida mother acquitted in the murder trial of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony.
Last week, Gonzalez’ attorney Matt Morgan spoke with reporters about a proposed October 2013, date where he intended to have Casey Anthony give a sworn deposition about statements she made to law enforcements indicating a nanny named Zenaida “Zanny” Gonzalez abducted her daughter. Morgan represents Gonzalez who says Anthony’s lies ruined her life, caused her mental distress, resulted in the loss of her job which caused extreme financial hardship and more. Not only did Shrader say his client does not agree to the October deposition date, but he informed the court he will file motions to have Kronk’s and Gonzalez’ civil suits. Judge May set a Nov. 5, 2013, date to hear the motions for dismissal.
Should Shrader wish to delay or postpone the October 2013 depositions in Gonzalez vs. Anthony, he will need to file a motion before the date. While Zenaida Gonzalez claims that Anthony made false accusations against her by saying a woman with her name kidnapped Caylee Anthony, and lied to investigators; Roy Kronk is suing due to statements made by Anthony’s defense attorneys, including Jose Baez, that insinuated Kronk had something to do with Caylee Anthony’s death (murder), then left her body in the woods to decompose. Baez suggested that Kronk found the body because he knew where the body was.
No one was charged for child neglect, child endangerment or mishandling human remains in the case of Caylee Anthony.
On April 6, 2012, Florida Governor Rick Scott signed bill HB 37 also known as “Caylee’s Law” making it a third-degree felony crime to give false information to police in missing child/children cases.
Named America’s most hated woman, Casey Anthony has remained in hiding since her July 5, 2011 acquittal.
