Casey Anthony heads to court: Faces questions regarding bankruptcy filing

The notorious Casey Anthony made her first public appearance Monday since her July 2011 acquittal in the death of her daughter Caylee Anthony. The Orlando Sentinel shared the details on March 4 of Casey Anthony's appearance in court for a bankruptcy hearing. She was on the arm of attorney Cheney Mason, and she hid her face under a coat.

Anthony has stayed mostly in hiding since her 2011 acquittal, in large part due to public threats and perception regarding her handling of and involvement in Caylee's death. At this point, however, Casey couldn't avoid the limelight as she had to head to federal court regarding her Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing. She owes a great deal of money to many, including a hefty sum to the man who helped gain her acquittal, attorney Jose Baez.

Casey Anthony has not worked since her acquittal, and the judge will likely ask who has been supporting her and whether she plans to sell her story at any point. Attorney Cheney Mason worked on her defense during the murder trial, and there is said to be another lawyer handling the bankruptcy case. Casey Anthony is also facing a court case stemming from her claims that a made-up babysitter had taken Caylee.
