Casey Anthony court appeal to be heard live, streaming online; Will she attend? (Video)

On Jan. 5, 2013, Central Florida News 13 confirmed along with public records that the long-awaited appeal on Casey Anthony’s four, misdemeanor convictions of lying to law enforcement would be heard this week. The proceedings will take place at the Fifth District Court of Appeals in Daytona Beach, Florida and the court hearing will stream live online. While this latest news, update confirms the court proceedings, it is unclear whether Casey Anthony will attend.

In Session will provide a pool camera that local, Florida news stations will pick up. The court proceedings consist of opening arguments in Casey Anthony's appeal; however, In Session is currently covering the Jodi Arias case. Due to Jodi Arias’ coverage and court proceedings to be held the same day, it is unknown whether Anthony’s hearing will air live on television. Those interested in watching the court proceedings may do so live, streaming online here.

Casey Anthony’s attorneys argue their client was overcharged, as the four statements she was convicted of were made during the same time period. They believe the charges constitute double jeopardy.

Also of great importance is the outcome of the appeals hearing. Casey Anthony currently faces a civil suit by Zenaida Gonzalez, and Anthony’s appeals case has prohibited the civil suit from moving forward. Once the appeals case is heard, Anthony may be forced to testify during the civil trial, and prohibited from pleading the fifth due to the impending appeal.

Opening arguments in Casey Anthony’s appeal are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at 1:30 p.m., ET.

Are you going to watch the proceedings even if Casey Anthony doesn’t attend?
