Hey all you parents, it’s that time again. If you haven’t done your back-to-school shopping yet (or you probably have), the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco is having their back-to-school clearance sale.
During the week before Labor Day (August 24th through September 1st), nearly everything in the museum store will be 25 to 75 percent off through Friday August 30th, while some will be up to 75 percent off through September 1st. The items that will be 25 percent off will include autographed books, graphic novels, trade paperbacks, manga, Klutz activity and magic ink books, stationery, picture books, books on pop art, street art and graffiti, coloring books, publications from local artists (which are hard to find), and cartoon-themed stationery. And when you visit the bookstore, you will also save 40 to 75 percent on clearance items including board games, jigsaw puzzles, and other Cartoon Art Museum merchandise including tumblers and dog tags. Also included in the clearance items are catalogs and books from past exhibitions and events.
Sale will also include an extensive selection of Edward Gorey books such as Ironic Tonic and the Blue Aspic, as well as tons of various knick-knacks including Pez dispensers, wind-up toys, and candy. It is truly an opportunity in saving money, and supporting the mission to present the best in original cartooning at the same time. Log on to www.cartoonart.org for more information.
