Becky Robertson of the band known as Carter's Chord is now engaged to producer/musician Jeremiah Scott, per a recent announcement from the happy couple.
As for how it all began, the Middle Tennessee State University campus, in more ways than one, has played a vital role in the lives of the musical couple, however.
"We both met in a class at MTSU in 2002," shared the blond Robertson. "We both graduated from the university with recording Industry degrees. He proposed to me nine years later in front of the (John Bragg) Mass Communication Building on MTSU's campus ... in the very spot we first met."
In particular, Robertson and Scott became engaged on Becky's 30th birthday, Aug. 23, on the Murfreesboro, Tenn., campus.
Regarding the recent proposal, "A simple motorcycle ride to the place where we first met sounded like the perfect birthday to me ... (but) little did I know that he had a bigger plan for the day," Robertson recalled. "He turned to me with a ring in hand and said, 'Here we go.' I could not be more excited to spend my life with this man."
The couple will wed in Nashville in spring 2012, but at this writing, "we do not have a specific date set yet," Robertson reported. (Country fans may recall that this time last year, Becky's sister and bandmate, Emily Robertson, wed one of the Trailer Choir players in Nashville.)
