Ron Cartavio Solera 1929
aged rum from Peru
This aged rum is a fine sipper, as well as a premium mixer. Destilerias Unidas of Cartavio, Peru produces the product using a sophisticated series of aging vessels staged in a solera configuration. The result is a complex rum that marries the qualities and flavors of many components successfully.
This spirit is a golden amber color. A musky, earthy aroma suggests the rum has been aging in old oak barrels for a long time. Hints of cola, sherry and vanilla round out the nose. Warm tones of wood, caramel, chocolate, coffee and spice entice the palette, leading to a medium-dry long lasting finish.
Destilerias Unidas of Cartavio, Peru produces a wide range of spirits, including their top-shelf Cartavio XO 18 year old premium rum. The distillery is located in the fertile Santiago de Cao region of northern Peru.
Cartavio rums are imported in the United States by Artisan Brands.
