Cars and seminars at Amelia Island (Video)

The 18th annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is scheduled for March 8-10, 2013 at The Golf Club of Amelia Island and The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. As usual, there is a full, long weekend of classic auto activities for everyone.

Events get under way on Friday with breakfast in nearby Fernandina Beach and a chance to see the cars that participated in the Marque Car Road Tour that will be on public display. Once you have your fill of the Tour cars, head for the Ritz-Carlton for a preview of the RM Auction cars and then attend a 1:30 Corvette Sting Ray seminar with GM’s Chief of Design, Ed Welburn and Sting Ray designer, Peter Brock. Stick around for the 4:00 seminar on the Porsche 911.

Saturday begins at 9:00 a.m. with “Cars and Coffee” on the Concours show field followed by a Ford GT-40 seminar at 10:00 a.m. featuring Dan Gurney, David Hobbs and Brian Redman. Take time to check-out the Automotive Fine Arts Society display and the silent auction room inside the Ritz-Carlton. The RM Auction consumes most of Saturday.

The main event is Sunday when the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance draws nearly 250 classic vehicles from collections around the world. Featured vehicles include:

  • Ford GT-40
  • Corvette Sting Ray
  • Porsche 911
