ABC Networks/CMAs 2009: Big winner
Taylor Swift won all the four awards she was nominated for last night at the CMAs, but most importantly won Entertainer of the Year, becoming the youngest person to ever win.
As you see below, she spoke to Access Hollywood and was thrilled about her night.
Moment after her win, a mildly-upset Carrie Underwood let something slip while hosting with Brad Paisley.
Brad gushed "How about that? Nineteen-years old. Congratulations, Taylor! What a night; I can't even imagine a better..."
Carrie interrupted “"And how were we? We were awesome!"
Then Wynonna Judd made some other thorough comments about why Taylor’s current music domination is not a good thing:
"My thing is, being a home-school mom, I want kids to earn it, and I think some time.'Cause mom and I rode in a car for the first year of our career to visit radio stations. There was a making of the star, there was a rising up, and the fans went with us. Now it’s over coffee breaks, the success, almost. You want my honest comment? It’s too much too soon. Time is God’s way of keeping everything from happening at once. It’s just too much of a good thing too soon."
OUCH! It all seemed so nice at the beginning of the show when Brad and Carrie made fun of Kanye, sort of taking her side of things.
I guess country music is not immune to acts of jealousy (right Faith Hill?).

This is the stupidest article I've seen in awhile. You guys must really be hard up for "news" if you have to start making up stuff about the CMAs. Leave country music alone and go lie about someone else.
Thank you Jan, I agree! Samuel, did you even WATCH the CMAs? If you did, then you would have noticed that Carrie came up to Taylor after she won, hugged her, and told her Congratulations...Maybe you should check your sources before you write ANOTHER completely inaccurate story.
The angle of this story is completely lame. You're stupid Samuel! Why do they let people like you write for the Examiner. I hope that your bosses see this and you get fired.
Okay this is frustrating to read and it would be even if I wasn't a huge Carrie fan...if you watch and LISTEN to what they are saying, Brad clearly starts saying something that has nothing to do with Taylor winning (he says something about how he doesn't think they could have had a better night) and Carrie is just trying to wrap up the show.
I spent the entire night at the CMAs and backstage at the CMAs. Carrie WAS happy for Taylor. She has said in multiple interviews that she supports Taylor Swift (and many other female country artists). It was clear that Brad and Carrie were rushing through their lines to get the show over before the time was up. Brad wasn't even talking about Taylor anymore when Carrie interrupted. I know that you're using drama to create buzz on your article, but everything in this article is a complete lie. Carrie Underwood is nothing but gracious in all situations.
Samuel is just taking what some mainstream entertainment news outlets have written and trying to make it his own. A+ for trying to get people to view his article and generate revenue for himself. After all, I read it, too. But, F for originality. Obviously Examiner.com has fairly low standards for "journalism." Make that no standards.
I watch the whole show and I loved it until the end when I did notice that Carrie cut off Brad. I thought I was hearing things, but I guess I didn't. People can be two face! I hope this dosent ruin Carrie Underwood's career. Cause I dont feel the same for her anymore!!
You people need to calm down...although we all want to think all country girls are wholesome and whatnot, they aren't. Carrie is fine but everyone who watched the show could easily see her aggravation, which is normal human nature!
Carrie was the new, young sweeheart and treated as the best thing to happen to country since Shania and here comes this girl and breaking more records. It's understandable.
And to those "insiders" backstage and crap, HELLO!!!! Of course she was 'happy' for Taylor.

This article makes me so mad, and sad to think that you would try to ruin a perfectly great CMA Award show with such garbage. Carrie Underwood, is the sweetest, most sincere young lady in any genre of the industry. She has won everything there is to win, so what does she have to be jealous of. It seems that all of us, who WATCHED the show knows that they had Taylor's back over the Kanye thing, which I quite frankly think needs to be dropped after this long. Carrie, went up to Taylor as Brad was going back out on the stage to end the show and hugged her and told her congratulations. Brad, was through and Carrie was simply wrapping the show. This is the worst article that you could have written, and as for you Joy, who commented that this might ruin Carrie's career. Think again sweetie. Carrie, is here to stay and it would certainly take more than a Taylor Swift to ruin her career. This woman is absolutely flawless and has a vocal range like no other.

I don't think this article was wrong for stating something that is an abstract opinion, if you don't like it there are obviously other ppl kissing Carrie's ass, go there.
They're all damn good musicians when you get down to it. I really don't care who bested somebody's CMA Award/album sales/etc. as long as they throw down when I see them in concert... PLEASE, Ashley Simpsons need not apply!
