LONDON, Eng., March 18, 2013 - Six-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood wowed the masses at yesterday's (March 17) first ever Country 2 Country music festival at the grand O2 Arena. As the headlining act, the 30-year-old performer took the stage in racy tights and little hotpants to perform her biggest hits, including "Jesus Take the Wheel," "Before He Cheats" and "Blown Away," off her platinum-selling album of the same name. Darius Rucker, Leann Rimes and Brantley Gilbert were the opening acts.
Over the long weekend, the roster also included Tim McGraw, Little Big Town, Vince Gill and Sugarland's Kristian Bush. "I love the idea of a country music festival in London and I'm so excited that so many amazing artists are coming together for Country to Country," Underwood says. "I feel honored to help represent country music, and I know it's going to be a really fun weekend!" McGraw adds, "Our trip to the UK and playing The O2 is one of the things I'm looking forward to the most for [this] year. I love being able to take my music to other countries, and I think there are a lot of new songs on 'Two Lanes of Freedom' that fans over there will really dig. It's going to be a blast!"
Afterwards, Underwood gushed about the experience, tweeting, "Incredible crowd tonight at @The_O2 arena tonight for the @C2Cofficial festival! All I can say is 'Wow!' and 'Thank you!' #amazed"
Also recently, Underwood performed her first -- of many to come -- show in Ireland at Belfast's Olympia stadium. Bringing her critically acclaimed Blown Away Tour across the Atlantic, the songstress demonstrated her cross-genre staying power and solidified her place in today's Country music. "Belfast was so much fun today!" she tweeted afterwards on Friday (March 15). "Thank you all! And blessings to Terry and Rachel...thanks again for including us in your night!"
