Carrie Underwood will be in "The Sound of Music." As reported at Entertainment Weekly on Sept. 16, 2013 the 30-year-old country pop star will star as Maria von Trapp. "The Sound of Music" will premiere on NBC, on Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. EST.
However, criticism for her role is already starting to appear on the Internet, beginning with the show's poster. "NBC has released a promotional poster for Carrie Underwood's turn as Maria in "The Sound of Music," and, well, let's just say she's got nothing on Julie Andrews," said Esther Zuckerman of The Atlantic, as an example.
But did the normally upbeat Underwood recently tweet a reaction to those who criticize her latest venture? "Negative people are negative because THEY "can't" & are insanely jealous of those who "can." So be positive & show the world that you WILL!" tweeted Underwood on Sept. 17, 2013.
