Country songbird Carrie Underwood was a technicolor dream when she performed at the 55th Grammy Awards at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. The Grammy Awards were televised live on CBS Television Network.
Carrie Underwood won the Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance for "Blown Away," but it was her silver dress that stole the show.
The large silver dress was used as a projection screen with ever changing imagery, including images of roses, butterflies and fireworks.
The dress was a creation by designer Don O'Neill, according to a report on ABC News. O'Neill only had a week to make a unique dress that could have a movie projected on it. The result was a silver-gray Duchess satin gown with more than 100 yards of tulle and crinoline inside to support the skirt.
Two projectors hung from the ceiling and projected images onto the dress. The images were synchronized with Underwood's music.
