Carrie Underwood is not only a talented singer and a loving wife, but she is also an animal lover, too. This is why it was not a big surprise that she was seen volunteering her time at a local animal shelter. According to Taste of Country on Jan. 8, this pet-loving country girl seemed to enjoy her time with the many animals that are looking for a home.

The “Blown Away” singer got down and dirty as she cleaned the dog pens and even posted a short vine video showing off a bit of dog poop on her hoodie that she claims she had no idea how it got there. "How'd I get poop on my shoulder? Weird," she was heard saying.

She also tweeted, “Spent the last couple days volunteering at an animal shelter. Lots of puppies = lots of poop! Oh...so much!” From the sounds of it, she got plenty dirty trying to keep up with the pooches at the shelter.

She posted some cute photos showing herself with an arm load of sweet puppies and a big smile on her face. The blond singer got lots of love and affection from some of the other dogs as well. A beautiful dog named T-Rex seemed to get quite a bit of attention from Underwood. She said that he was one of her favorites and quite a cuddler. Someone would be very lucky to adopt that sweet boy, or any of the other dogs from the shelter.

It was obvious that Carrie Underwood was there not only to help out, but to also promote pet adoption and volunteering at animal shelters by tweeting photos complete with hash tags. She joins fellow country singer Miranda Lambert in promoting pet adoptions by actually going to various shelters and helping out. This is a great way for these famous gals to help find these pups and kitties their forever homes.
