NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 14, 2013 - Six-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood adds another double platinum-selling single to her mantel as her two-week No. 1 smash "Blown Away" crosses the two million sale threshold. As the second single from her fourth studio album of the same name, Underwood continues her mainstream sales dominance. This impressive milestone follows on the recent news that current Country single "Two Black Cadillacs" has moved well over 500,000 copies, solidifying gold status. Meanwhile, this era's lead single "Good Girl" has sold an impressive 1.651 copies to-date.
Presented with the double-platinum plaque, the soaring songstress posed with several Sony Music Nashville reps, including Caryl Healey, VP of Sales, Gary Overton, Chairman & CEO, and Alaina Vehec, Director of Digital Sales.
This week, Underwood performs a handful of shows in Ireland and the UK, culminating in a highly anticipated performance at the Country 2 Country music festival on Sunday, March 17. Taking the stage at The O2 Arena, Underwood will be performing her biggest smash hits, including "Jesus Take the Wheel," "Before He Cheats" and "Blown Away." Also slated to perform are Tim McGraw, Vince Gill and Leann Rimes, among others.
Underwood's critically acclaimed Blown Away Tour continues through May. Newcomer Hunter Hayes ("Wanted," "Somebody's Heartbreak") is the opening act. Later this year, several production props and costumes will be featured in an exclusive exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in downtown Nashville.
