Carrie Underwood's $31 million necklace nearly stole the show at the 2013 Grammys. The diamond necklace was on loan from Jonathon Arndt, according to a report from Sunday night (Feb. 10), but it was surprising that she wasn't accompanied by any visible security.
The necklace certainly set off Underwood's outfit for the night and it looked even better when she was on stage accepting the award for Best Country Solo Performance. The image of her holding her latest Grammy Award just below that $31 million necklace could become iconic for the show.
Underwood told interviewers that the necklace was "381 carats of gorgeousness." She went on to comically state that, "This is worth like more than me, and everything I have, and have ever had and ever will have." While that comment is probably not true after all the success that Underwood has been having, the humor wasn't lost on those watching the show from home.
The necklace itself has 381 carats of oval, pear, marquise, and round brilliant white diamonds according to the report. What wasn't mentioned is how it became the envy of nearly everyone commenting on the internet through the night.
Carrie Underwood's $31 million necklace became one of the biggest fashion stories of the night, so she should probably give her stylist a nice raise in the morning.
