Carrie Underwood spent her Labor Day sharing some big news. CMT reported on Sept. 1, 2014 that Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher shared the news on Twitter that they have their first baby on the way. The couple included their dogs Ace and Penny in the soon to be new family member announcement that included a photo that let the word out.
Underwood and her NHL Nashville Predators star husband Fisher began dating in 2008 and the happy couple and new parents to be married in 2010. The pregnancy announcement spread quickly among Underwood’s fan’s which reaches almost four million Twitter followers.
Underwood hit Twitter to say "In honor of 'Labor' Day ... Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier." The announcement included a photo of Underwood sitting with the family pets Ace and Penny wearing t-shirts saying "I'm going to be a big brother" and "I'm going to be a big sister."
The expectant parents did not include a due date for their first child but they did have some fun with baby names following the big news with Fisher posting "We haven't picked names yet but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher.” Fisher also had fun posting "I knew you would finally cave and let us get another dog" on Twitter.
The congratulations began for Underwood and Fisher following the couple’s special Labor Day news which included one from fellow country singer and friend Brad Paisley. Paisley shared his congratulations for Underwood and Fisher on Twitter by posting “Fantastic!!! Congrats!! RT @carrieunderwood: In honor of "Labor" Day..Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement.”
Underwood and Paisley will be taking the stage together for the seventh year in a row to host “The 48th Annual CMA Awards” happening on ABC on Nov. 5, 2014. Nominations are set to be announced by Little Big Town and Darius Rucker on Sept. 3, 2014 for “The 48th Annual CMA Awards.”
