Carrie Underwood reins supreme.

At last night’s ACM Awards, Carrie Underwood won the coveted Entertainer of the Year award along with Female Vocalist of the Year. Of course, she was stunning as usual. Carrie’s style is so “country” but oddly chic at the same time.

Miss Underwood’s cascading mane is often deliberately messy. By this, I mean that she obviously doesn’t like the “no hair out of place” look but can still be stylishly coiffed. To achieve this look, you need to naturally have her length and thickness. She probably uses a large curling iron in a spiral fashion. Instead of brushing through, Carrie’s stylist then would separate with fingers and add a bit of wax or pomade. (Not too much though or it’ll weigh down the hair.) From this point, all types of styles can be worked in from updos to side sweeps to a natural spill over the shoulders parted anywhere.

Carrie’s makeup is the epitome of country music glamour. She has great skin but uses a foundation that adds a flawless cover. I’d love to know exactly which product this is, by the way. Her stylist generally plays down her lips and cheeks to make those eyes really pop. She goes heavy on the liner and brown tinted shadow for a very dramatic look. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her with a lipstick darker than light pink but it suits her. She’s fair skinned so attaining her makeup look will be easier if you’re on the fair side as well.

For anyone who watched last night, Carrie Underwood stole the show. The gigantic dress, the amazing vocals, and the odd silver platforms made for great entertainment. Carrie, thankfully, doesn’t fit into the Hollywood mold. (I just hope she doesn’t get any skinner.)
