The song, titled "Keep Us Safe," was especially written for the event by Underwood and industry tastemakers Luke Laird, Hillary Lindsey and Shane McAnally, according to Twitter user Typo21. No other details have been revealed.
Underwood joins previously announced performers Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Luke Bryan, Merle Haggard, Hunter Hayes, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Kellie Pickler, George Strait, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum and The Band Perry.
Co-hosted by Grammy regular LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell, the special will be taped on Monday, April 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will later be broadcast on the CBS Network on May 20 at 9/8c.
