Carrie Underwood announced on Monday that she is pregnant. According to Us Weekly, Underwood posted a pregnancy announcement on her Instagram account on Labor Day. Reportedly, a rep for Underwood also confirmed the news that she is expecting her first child with husband Mike Fisher.
Ironically, the 31-year-old former "American Idol" contestant chose Labor Day to tell the world that she is pregnant. Fox 8 News posted the photo that Underwood shared from her Instagram and Twitter accounts on Monday announcing her pregnancy. The photo announcement is captioned, "In honor of 'Labor' Day...Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier!"
Ace and Penny are Underwood's two pet pooches and are each wearing their own pink and blue shirts in the pic announcing that one is going to be a big brother and one is going to be a big sister. Underwood's husband 34-year-old NHL player Mike Fisher also posted his own short announcement on his Twitter account. "We haven't picked names yet but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly," said Fisher. He followed up the tweet with hashtags #boyorgirl and #flyfisher.
Underwood, a six-time Grammy winner, met Fisher late in 2008 at one of her country music concerts. The couple became engaged in December 2009 and married in July 2010. A statement signed "Mike & Carrie Fisher"given to People Magazine following the Georgia wedding said, "We could not feel more blessed to have found each other." Underwood has admitted that she would love to have at least two children, but no more than four. She is expected to host the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley in November. Underwood and Paisley have co-hosted the ceremonies since 2008.
