Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher ask fans to wear red for good cause

Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher are joining the fight to end slavery around the world. The country superstar posed with her husband for an anti-slavery photo she shared on Twitter on February 26.

The couple is shown wearing cozy sweatshirts and snuggled up to one another while proudly displaying a red “x” on each of their hands. The red “x” is the symbol being used to promote Shine A Light on Slavery Day, part of the End It Movement. Shine A Light on Slavery Day is February 27.

Carrie Underwood tweeted:

Help us shine a light on slavery tomorrow by wearing a red X! We're in it to end it! #EndItMovement

The End It Movement is an alliance of individuals and organizations seeking to educate about and eliminate slavery around the world. The movement spotlights the atrocities of human sex trafficking, forced labor, and bonded labor and states that 27 million people are affected by slavery.

The End it Movement website is a central point where people can donate to various charitable organizations who are fighting to end slavery.
