Carrie Underwood is a true 'Idol' to Animal Life

Carrie Underwood may sing 'Temporary Home', but she is passionate about giving pets a 'permanent home'. The five-time Grammy artist has teamed up with Pedigree to motivate people to adopt animals in need of homes.

“Hopefully we can raise awareness and stop the problem...”, Underwood told “You know, get people to adopt and get the people to do the proper pet care things that they need to be doing”, she said at the press conference for the campaign.

The country music sensation has always been outspoken for her love of animals. Last year she formed the C.A.T.S. (Checotah Animal, Town and School) Foundation in order to help causes in her hometown of Checotah, OK. Animal protection has always been vital to the former American Idol.

Underwood, whose song 'Temporary Home' just became her 12th #1 single, is currently in the middle of her major nation-wide 'Play On' tour. On April 18 she will make a stop in Las Vegas for The Academy of Country Music Awards, where she is nominated for six top honors, including the title she currently holds, 'Entertainer of the Year'.

Fans can vote for Underwood to once again receive the night's highest honor right here.
If she wins it, Underwood will be the only female in history to be named The ACM's 'Entertainer of the Year' twice.

Looking back on Carrie Underwood's shining achievements and record-breaking moments, another history-making accomplishment would come as no surprise.

I love Carrie. I love how much she cares and doesn't shove anything in your face. She's not blaming she's simply trying to bring awareness. I had no idea there was a problem with animals until she got involved. Thanks for the information and the easy paths to help.
