Five-time Grammy winner and multi-platinum selling artist Carrie Underwood embarks on her highly anticipated 55-city Blown Away tour tonight, September 14, 2012. Kicking things off in Manchester, N.H., Underwood -- alongside tour-opener Hunter Hayes -- vows to bring the drama straight to her fans.
In an interview with The Country Vibe, the "Blown Away" singer says:
“I definitely want it to be bigger than my last tour cause you always want to do something different and make it look and feel different. And I feel like we’re gonna take people on this journey and they can kind of get lost in another world for a little while.”
Furthermore, in a recent Examiner report, Underwood revealed several tour spoilers, including two songs straight off her setlist. Additionally, she dropped hints at cool set movement, the massive size of the stage, and an entire environmental component to the tour. Needless to say, concert goers will have quite a musical experience to last a lifetime.
For each ticket sold, Underwood has pledged $1 to either the American Red Cross or the Canadian Red Cross, depending on the city any given night. For a full list of concert dates and to purchase tickets, check out her official website.
This brand new tour is not the only thing Underwood has cause to celebrate. Her latest album Blown Away was certified platinum last week, marking her the first American Idol winner to garner four platinum-selling albums. As previously reported, she also earned yet another significant milestone in her career as the only female artist to achieve 16 consecutive Top 10 hits in Billboard's massive 68-year history.
In addition to the tour, Underwood can be seen in the upcoming airing of the 2012 CMA Fest on September 17 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. Other artists fans can expect to see include Jason Aldean, Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town, The Band Perry and more!
