Carrie Underwood took an on-stage fall Thursday night during a concert in Texas, which has put her left foot in a brace. Underwood’s Corpus Christi performance came tumbling down right in the middle of a song, reports ABC News on Friday, Sept. 6, when the “American Idol” superstar got her five-inch stiletto heel caught in the tail of her trailing costume.
But Carrie Underwood does not let a fall get her down. First, she finished the performance. Then she sent out reports. “Good news, it’s not broken… AND I got some new footwear,” the singer tweeted, referring to her black nylon brace. It set up a blizzard of tweets, many sent by the star, herself, under the hashtags “klutz” and “5inchheels.”
“Hey, remember that time in Corpus Christi when that girl busted her butt on stage?! Hilarious. Oh wait, that was me!” Carrie Underwood, 30, used the fall as a chance to poke fun at herself –always a popular move with fans. She posted a photo of the injured foot, with bright pink toes protruding.
And the incident provided a backdrop for more verbal sparring with her frequent CMA co-host Brad Paisley. Paisley posted an Instagram video of Carrie Underwood’s fall on Facebook: “The graceful, the nimble, the cat-like reflexes of Carrie Underwood.”
“At least I wasn’t drunk. :)” the blonde singer responded. “You know I don’t drink on stage! I’m uncoordinated enough as it is!”
