BOISE, Idaho, February 16, 2013 - Six-time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood took some time this afternoon to enjoy a nice, hot stone massage from Spa Urbana. The Country crooner was spotted moments after receiving a special treatment from the friendly staff (see photo above). Beaming from ear to ear, Underwood is winding down after quite the eventful week of awards show wins and nominations.
Offering a wide range of services, including deep tissue, Swedish and sports massages and facials, the fresh and modern spa is located in downtown Boise. "Founded on the principles of relaxing ritual, beauty and well-being, we are dedicated to providing organic, sustainable products, one-of-a-kind treatments and superior service," boasts their Google Plus page.
Recently, Underwood scored a win for "Best Country Solo Performance" at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards for her stirring "Blown Away" track, off her platinum-selling album of the same name. The song also picked up a nod for "Best Country Song," awarded to songwriting duo Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins. Both Nashville-based tunesmiths also penned Underwood's award-winning crossover hit, "Before He Cheats," in 2006.
Also this week, Underwood landed two nominations for this year's Academy of Country Music Awards, including her seventh nod for "Female Vocalist of the Year." She faces off against some stiff competition in this category. Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Martina McBride and newcomer Kacey Musgraves ("Merry Go 'Round") will prove to be worthy contenders for the prestigious honor. Her latest album, "Blown Away," received a nod for "Album of the Year."
The Oklahoma powerhouse kicked off the second leg of her critically acclaimed Blown Away Tour on Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Colorado Springs. The 100-plus concert extravaganza continues through May, and many set pieces and costumes will be featured in an exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville starting in June.
