Today, Sep. 3, the CMA Awards revealed its list of nominees for this year’s awards show. “American Idol” Season Four winner, Carrie Underwood, continued her exciting week and picked up three award nominations. She was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as Music Video of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for “Somethin’ Bad,” her duet with Miranda Lambert.
On Monday, which was also Labor Day, Underwood took to social media to make a very big announcement: she and husband Mike Fisher are expecting their first child together! In true Carrie Underwood fashion, the couple posted a picture of Carrie with her two dogs, Ace and Penny, who each sported clothing that revealed they were going to become a big brother and big sister. Carrie added that the parents couldn’t be happier.
Underwood is currently between albums and has few upcoming appearances scheduled. This coming weekend, she will make her usual appearance at the Ravinia Festival in Illinois and will appear at the Global Citizen Festival later this month in New York. Carrie also serves as the voice of Sunday Night Football, currently entering into her second year singing the coveted theme song, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.”
For the seventh year in a row, Carrie Underwood will share hosting duties at the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley. The 48th Annual CMA Awards are set to air Nov. 5 on ABC.
Congratulations to Carrie on her CMA Award nominations, hosting duties, and most importantly, the little addition she has on the way!
