Six-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood brought the house down at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards with a lovely acoustic rendition of her stormy No. 1, "Blown Away." Taking the stage in long silver gown, Underwood's lilting vocals lusciously curved around the song's chilling lyrics, penned by songwriting duo Chris Thompkins and Josh Kear. Mid-way through her performance, she switched gears, literally, and raced into an orchestra-inspired version of "Two Black Cadillacs," a haunting story about two women seeking revenge on their cheating man.
Not only did "Blown Away" garner a win for Underwood in the "Best Country Solo Performance" category, the mountainous tale also scooped up "Best Country Song" during the pre-show telecast.
Also hitting the stage during the three-hour event were Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley in a cool mashup performance of their biggest hits, "Over You" and "Home," respectively. While both singers were up for "Best Country Album," neither scored a win. That distinction went to the incredibly talented Zac Brown Band for their Americana-based Uncaged disc, released summer 2012, featuring their No. 1 hit, "Goodbye in Her Eyes."
