Though Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher have long been the subject of pregnancy rumors, it's a rumor no more. On Mon. Sept. 1, the blonde country star took to her Twitter to share the exciting news that she's expecting.
"In honor of "Labor" Day...Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier!" the "Jesus Take the Wheel" singer tweeted. Accompanying Underwood's text is a sweet picture of her cuddled up with her two dogs wearing t-shirts which say, "I'm going to be a big brother."
This will be the first child for Underwood, 31, and Preds hockey player Mike Fisher, 34 who tied the knot in 2010.
Underwood's career has been non-stop since winning 'American Idol' in 2005. From countless awards, to TV appearances, to her role as Maria von Trapp in 'The Sound of Music Live!,' her momentum has continued. Most recently, Underwood and Miranda Lambert (who is also often rumored to be pregnant) have been tearing up the charts with 'Somethin' Bad.'
Now with Underwood's confirmed pregnancy, the boy or girl guessing games are bound to start. With two talented parents, perhaps the Underwood/Fisher baby will be a singing hockey player?
