Carrie Prejean is allowed to remain Miss California

According to an Associated Press report released just minutes ago, Donald Trump announced that she can keep her crown as Miss California.   Trump said "we have determined that the pictures taken are fine."

This is good news for Prejean, who has been the target of an all-out smear campaign since she honestly answered a question under duress, in favor of traditional marriage during the 2009 Miss USA pageant last month.

It looks as though Donald Trump was able to rise above the mob rule dynamics that have dominated this national discussion since it started. 

While this development will necessarily generate further conflict, Miss California can continue to represent this great state.
