'Carrie Diaries' season premiere recap: A show worth watching

On Jan. 14, "The Carrie Diaries" made its season premier with AnnaSophia Robb cast as the lead character in the show. Fans of "Sex and the City" were unsure of whether the prequel would measure up to the famous Carrie Bradshaw, but were pleasantly surprised when the show aired.

The television series, which stars AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie Bradshaw, was much better than what people thought it would be. There was a bit that reminded fans of the grown-up Carrie, while leaving room for exploration, curiosity and of course being a naive teenage girl. Viewers watched with interest as she dealt with a broken heart, the excitement of partying in Manhattan and dealing with a corporate nut. Fans also smiled at her unique fashion sense and Carrie breaking all the wardrobe rules... even as a teenager.

"The Carrie Diaries" answers some questions about Carrie Bradshaw of "Sex and the City," such as what happened to her mom and what molded her into the person that she is (at least on television.) Hopefully after more episodes, fans will discover why her sister and father were never mentioned on "Sex and the City."

This is a show worth watching and even for people who are not fans of "Sex and the City" should check out at least one episode.

What did you think of "The Carrie Diaries?" Did AnnaSophia Robb remind you of Carrie Bradshaw of "Sex and the City?"
