Carrie Ann Inaba had an emotional “Dancing With the Stars” season 16 premiere. The star lost her father, who she credits for her sense of style and fashion, according to a March 19 People Magazine report.
Writing her style blog for People Magazine, Inaba touched on her emotional loss, writing that her father, Rodney Inaba inspired her personal style. Reflecting on her loss, Inaba wrote that she wasn’t sure she could emotionally make it through the show, but acknowledged that while she is “filled with a tremendous sadness,” she also feels “relief, for he is in a better place now.”
For the premiere, Inaba wore a black Theia gown featuring “metallic geometry down the front.” She accessorized her look with jewelry by Supreme, Swarovski and Open Hearts, including vintage costume pieces. For Inaba, personal style is all about the right mix. She’s not afraid to rock real gems “right next to faux pieces.”
Of her fashion choices for the premiere, Inaba wrote, “Monday night’s fashion choices were important because it was the premiere … but also for other, personal reasons. I needed to feel safe and comfortable.”
Inaba chose to rock her stylish way through the first show of the season in honor of her father because in her heart, she knew he would have cheered her all the way.
