Cover to Cover Books in Vancouver, WA, is hosting a launch party for local author Carolyn J. Rose on Saturday, February 22, at 3 pm. Rose is celebrating the release of her newest mystery novel titled No Substitute for Maturity. This is the third book in her Subbing isn't for Sissies series.

No Substitute for Maturity is the latest escapade in the life of substitute teacher Barbara Reed. Fans of the first two books in the series, No Substitute for Murder and No Substitute for Money, are in for another fun ride. The story clips along at a good pace with just enough bumps and jounces in the plot to make things interesting. The characters--many of whom now feel like old friends--are still quirky, heart-warming, and delightfully exasperating.

"After tangling with killers and then a deranged drug dealer, substitute teacher Barbara Reed craves routine, relaxation, and quality time with drug cop Dave Martin. Moving in together seems like the way to achieve all she desires. But Dave's teenage daughter Allison is part of the package--a package filled with drama, conflict, stress, and shirked responsibility. And Allison's issues are only the tip of the iceberg.

Thanks to Mrs Ballantine, Cheesepuff's obedience level falls to new lows. Barb's smarmy ex-husband lands a job at her condo complex. Curriculum changes spark teacher turmoil. And Barb's bombastic sister, Iz, launches a protest against the justice system.

Then the police chief resigns, leaving Dave at the mercy of a new boss with an old grudge--a boss who wants Iz arrested for murder." (synopsis provided by author)

Carolyn J. Rose is the author of several stand-alone mystery novels, as well as the Subbing isn't for Sissies mystery series and the Catskill Mountains Mysteries. She currently lives and writes in Vancouver, WA.

A launch party is the perfect time for longtime fans of Carolyn J. Rose to congratulate the author on the release of her new mystery. And for those who haven't yet met Carolyn? It's a perfect opportunity to stop in and discover her work. Whichever reason, be sure to stop by Cover to Cover Books on Saturday, February 22, at 3 pm. Refreshments provided!
