One of the best aspects of living in New York City is its lively nightlife, including some of the hottest and most popular comedy clubs in the country. Caroline’s on Broadway, located in the heart of the Theater District, is one of the best. Founded by Caroline Hirsch in 1982, this 10,000-square-foot club has been a pivotal influence in launching the careers of celebrities such as Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Billy Crystal, Rosie O’Donnell, and Jay Leno to name just a few. Other big names in comedy who still perform at the club as regular headline acts include Dave Chappelle, Tracy Morgan, and Kathy Griffin.
Caroline’s on Broadway has several different rooms for different occasions, whether it be viewing a performance or having a private party. “The Supper Lounge,” for example, is a spot for guests to gather for a cocktail reception—as it has a 22-foot-long bar—or for dinner before a performance. It features live music and D.J. The “Showroom” area, located on the bar’s lower level, can accommodate as many as 300 guests who wish to dine during a performance, and 400 guests at the cocktail lounge. All of them will have a good view of the performances on the 10-foot-long stage and two 4-foot long-flat screen television sets on either side of the showroom recording these performances. Caroline's on Broadway (1626 Broadway at 49th St.) (212) 757-4100.
