Caroline Kilel talks about her favorite place to run, plus Houston half results (Video)

Kenyan distance runner Caroline Kilel enjoys running all over the world, but her absolute favorite race is the Boston Marathon, she said.

That’s because the Boston course resembles her own training ground.

“I like Boston because there are many downhills,” Kilel said while talking to Flotrack.org. “The place I train, there are many hills, so that’s why I like Boston.”

Kilel won the 2011 Boston Marathon in a personal-best time of 2:22.36.

She shared her love for the Boston course with Flotrack.org on Friday from Houston, where she was preparing to run the 2013 Houston Half Marathon. In that race, Kilel finished second in a time of 1:11.58. Mamitu Daksa of Ethiopia won the women’s race in a time of 1:09.53.

Lisa Uhl, a 2012 Olympian in the 10,000-meters, was the top American finisher, placing sixth in a time of 1:13.28. Full results can be found here.
