Strap on your Halloween drinking boots, Winston, because Carolina Oktoberfest is this Saturday, October 29, at Tanglewood Park, and it's affordable! The beer tastings will be held from noon until 6 pm, but beer will be sold by the glass after 3 pm.
The breweries in attendance are as follows: New Belgium, Sweetwater, Magic Hat, Boulder Beer, Sam Adams, Harpoon, MillerCoors, Foothills, Yuengling, Great Lakes, LoneRider, Skull Coast, Guiness, and Crispen Cider. Bazinga!
Tickets are available at the gate for $20 or can be purchased in advance for $15 at Foothills Brewing, Triad area Lowes Foods, UPS Store at Hanes Mall, or Bestway in Greensboro. There are also DD tickets available only at the gate for $10. They are limiting ticket sales to 5,000 to keep things comfortable and enjoyable, so do not dally.
The bands will include Hard to Handle (Black Crowes tribute, 12:15 pm- 1:45 pm), Frontiers (Journey tribute, 2:15 pm - 4 pm), and Love Gun (Kiss tribute, 4:30 pm - 6 pm).
What to bring? IDs and lawn chairs will suffice. What not to bring? No pets, coolers, umbrellas, outside food or alcohol. There will be plenty of great food from some of Winston-Salem's finest eateries as well as exhibitions for your perusal.
