If you want to know about inshore and nearshore saltwater fishing in North Carolina you could hardly find two better experts on the subject than Capt. Jerry Dilsaver and Capt. Jimmy Price. The two of them will be holding one of their 2012 Saltwater Fishing Schools on February 18 at River Park North in Greenville, NC.
The one day seminar will include sessions on catching speckled trout, red drum, flounder, sheepshead, gray trout, off-shore bottom fish and Spanish and king mackerel. There will also be a lesson on the best way to throw a cast net.
Capt. Jerry Dilsaver has been one of the Carolina’s foremost fishing writers ever since he and George Hall started Carolina Adventure magazine in 1986. Since that time he has written and edited some of the Carolinas’ most premier outdoors publications, and is currently a contributing writer for the NC and SC Sportsman magazine and a fishing columnist for the Carteret County News-Times and the State Port Pilot.
When not writing about fishing Dilsaver is an accomplished tournament angler and has been ever since the late 80s. He made his name winning national championships as a king mackerel competitor and also has had success in inshore tournaments.
Capt. Jimmy Price is a virtual living legend of the Carolina coast, a fishing guide known far and wide for his mastery of flounder fishing. He is also an innovative lure creator who invented the Troutkiller line of soft plastics marketed by Sea Striker. Price is one of the most popular speakers on the Carolina angling circuit.
The saltwater school runs from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Tickets are $50 in advance or $60 at the door. For tickets you can call River Park North at 252-329-4560 or reach the experts at 910-279-6760 (Jerry) and 910-443-1211 (Jimmy).
