Carole Radziwill on Ramona Singer's divorce and her own breakup with musician

Carole Radziwill knows a lot about heartache so she's sympathetic when it comes to her "The Real Housewives of New York City" co-star Ramona Singer's divorce. In an interview with Us Weekly, posted on Monday, Feb. 10, she said that she was "surprised" when she learned of the split.

"You know, I’m not going to say anything other than I always enjoyed Ramona and Mario’s company. So, of course, as any friend I was surprised. They were together 25 years, more than most couples. I'm sure Ramona will do what's best for her family," she said.

Like the classy lady that she is, Carole wouldn't talk about the cause of her friend's divorce.

Carole's own breakup with musician Russ Irwin after three years of dating was amicable.

"We broke up for the reason a lot of couples break up. We weren’t in the same place. He talked of marriage and I was not in a marrying state of mind. But we remain close friends. Sure, it's a cliché, but it's also true," she said.

Carole also said that viewers of the new season of "The Real Housewives of New York City" will see a more assertive Carole.

"Last season I cried. This season I scream. I must say screaming is more rewarding!" she said.

Sonja Morgan has also stated that viewers will see a more direct and forceful Carole in the show's season six.

Perhaps Carole will gift Ramona, who probably needs a laugh and some escapism, a copy of her new book, "The Widow’s Guide To Sex and Dating," which she said "will appeal to any women faced with starting over whether a break up, a divorce, or a death." Perhaps the two will even go on double dates in the future!
