Comedy legend Carol Burnett will play the mother of Jane Lynch's character, cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, on the hit musical series "Glee," according to an exclusive report from EW's The Ausiello Files.
So far what we've learned of Sue's mother is that she along with her father would go on Nazi-hunting adventures together, leaving Sue to care for her younger sister while they were away.
Back in May, Burnett expressed interest about appearing on the hit show.
"I'd do whatever they wanted me to," she said in an interview, "but I'd like to have a few scenes with Jane Lynch. I love her."
"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy also mentioned at Comic-Con that his dream guest star would be Carol Burnett, something that now seems to have become a reality.
The Emmy-winning actress' most recent TV appearances include roles on "Desperate Housewives," and "Law & Order: SVU."
Other actors set to guest star on "Glee" next season include John Stamos, Cheyenne Jackson, Charice, Chord Overstreet, and Paul McCartney.
The episode featuring Carol Burnett is set to air in October or November.
"Glee" returns to FOX on Tues., Sept. 21.
