Carol Burnett is known as one of the funniest women to ever be on television. On Oct. 21, CBS News reported that she received a top humor prize recently in D.C. Fans remember watching "The Carol Burnett Show" years ago.
On Sunday, Carol was given the nation's top humor award at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. This was the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Several different people performed at the event in her honor including Julie Andrews, Tony Bennett, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler.
Carol Burnett teased that there are a lot of people out there that are funnier than her including people who work in Washington but hopefully some of them are voted out of their office soon. Tina Fey didn't shy away from controversial subjects such as Obamacare and the recent government shutdown.
If you want to see her receive her award, this show will air on PBS on Nov. 24. Please like my Facebook to stay up to date on the latest news.
