Carnival Cruise Lines announced the launch of a pilot program to introduce two new experiences for evening dining in its main restaurants. According to a Dec. 3 press release received by Examiner, American TABLE and American FEAST will debut on Carnival Glory the week of Dec. 8 and will include new menus as well as tableside or family-style service.
American TABLE will be featured on casual nights and will feature a modern décor, a variety of familiar regional dishes, a standalone cocktail menu and wine list, and an appetizer course served family-style for the table. Menu items will include traditional and “rare finds” appetizers and entrées inspired by the day’s port of call.
American FEAST will be offered on elegant nights and will have a more formal and sophisticated ambiance, such as tableside service of all courses. The concept is meant to replicate a special, elaborate occasion involving all guests.
In addition to Carnival Glory, the programs will be tested on Carnival Liberty starting in Jan. 2014 and Carnival Imagination and Carnival Inspiration a month later. The final programs, which will incorporate guest feedback, will extend to all Carnival Cruise Lines ships in late 2014 and 2015.
Carnival Glory is currently sailing weeklong Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami. Carnival Liberty and Carnival Imagination also sail from Florida ports, and Carnival Inspiration is based in Los Angeles.
