Carnival Splendor to sail seasonally from Norfolk in 2015

Carnival Cruise Lines announced that Carnival Splendor will sail a series of voyages from Norfolk, Va. in 2015. According to a March 20, 2014 press release received by Examiner, six cruises from Norfolk to the Bahamas and Bermuda will operate in May and October 2015, on either end of the ship’s summer 2015 season in New York.

The six voyages will be between two and seven nights in length, and will include sailings to the Bahamas or Bermuda.

The season begins on May 11, 2015 with a five-night cruise from Norfolk to Nassau and Freeport. This will be followed by a two-night cruise-to-nowhere on May 16. One more five-night cruise to Nassau and Freeport will depart Norfolk on May 18.

Carnival Splendor returns to Norfolk on Oct. 12 for another five-night cruise to Nassau and Freeport, followed by a six-night cruise on Oct. 17 to Nassau, Freeport, and the private island Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas. On Oct. 23, 2015, Carnival Splendor will make a seven-night cruise to Bermuda that includes three days in port.

Carnival Splendor’s New York season in 2015 will run from May 25 through October 4, and will consist of cruises to the Eastern Caribbean, the Bahamas, and Canada/New England. After her two cruises from Norfolk in October, Carnival Splendor will return to Miami for her winter season, which runs from November 2015 to April 2016.
