Coming soon, on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., the Walnut Creek Family YMCA will host a free Carnival Family Event. Organized activities will be chosen to encourage a safe and fun carnival environment for parents to do with their kids. Other family events such as large ball dodgeball and standard dodgeball and inflatables are also offered at other times of the year.
Events such as these can be wonderful ways to get big muscle activity while the temperatures are cold in winter. Open gyms at area elementary schools give another option for cold weather family activities; whether activities are guided and organized varies by location.
Registration for the Carnival Family Event is not limited to members -- guests are also welcome. Registration is being taken at the front desk. Parking is available in the lots surrounding the building to the north and west. Families with small children and handicapped needs may use the upper (east) lot for parking.
