The Carnival Dream recently completed a two week dry dock for some exciting upgrades. The Carnival Dream now has some of the latest Fun Ship 2.0 features that her sister ships already have. On the lido deck you will now find the RedFrog Rum Bar, which offers a selection of Caribbean rum-based concoctions and Carnival's private label draught beer, ThirstyFrog Red. Also added to the lido deck is the BlueIguana Tequila Bar, featuring frozen tequila drinks and Mexican beers.
For added entertainment, the Carnival Dream now has the Punchliner Comedy Club. This club features comedians picked by George Lopez. On sea days, the club hosts the Punchliner Comedy Brunch, with hourly performances combined with great food and drink. Cherry on Top is the new shop which is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth with a large selection of candies and more.
The Carnival Dream sails regularly from Port Canaveral, which is reachable from Baltimore by flying into Orlando International Airport. Transfers can be purchased from Carnival, though my recommendation is to ask your travel agent about hotels in the Cocoa Beach area that provide bus service. You should fly in the night before your cruise so you can be well rested and not worried about missing the ship should weather delays occur.
The Carnival Dream alternates Eastern and Western Caribbean 7-night sailings. The Eastern Caribbean route has scheduled port calls in Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. The Western Caribbean route has scheduled port calls in Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico as well as Belize. I will be sailing on the Carnival Dream on October 20th and will write a series of review articles when I get back. If you would like to sail with me, there are a few cabins left.
