Carmen Electra suggests adoption may be in her future

Carmen Electra tells reporters that she's "open" to the idea of adoption, says a Feb. 28 DailyMail news story. Single since her breakup with Simon Cowell, Electra suggests she may take a run at adoptive parenting at some point in the future.

"'I'm open to it. Work has been my priority this year but I'm not closed off to the idea of adoption. I love kids," she says.

Whether she'd pursue domestic adoption or international adoption remains unclear, but 40-year-old Electra was adamant that she'd eagerly embrace motherhood. Electra falls into an age range of women who are most likely to consider adoption. According to the Child Welfare Information Gateway, a study showed that women between the ages of 40 and 44 years old were most likely to consider adoption. The current state of international adoption is such that fewer programs are open to single women adopting than in years past. That's not the case for domestic adoption and foster care adoption, two U.S. options that regularly fuel single parent adoptions.

Whether Electra fulfills this dream or not remains to be seen. Click "subscribe" above for updates on Carmen Electra's adoption dreams and all things related to domestic adoption and international adoption.
