Last night, August 21st, Hennessy honored NBA icon Carmelo Anthony with the Hennessy Privilège Award at New York City hotspot, The Griffin. Anthony was honored for his philanthropic work and ongoing community service through his Carmelo Anthony Foundation. In the celebration of the event’s 10th anniversary, Saturday Night Live star, Jay Pharoah, kicked off the festivities, with Spike Lee (2004 Hennessy Privilège Award recipient) taking the stage to toast the new inductee. Additional celebrities on hand to show support Rocsi Diaz, NY Knicks teammate J.R. Smith, rapper Fabolous, actor MackWilds, TV personality Adrienne Bailon and DJ Clue.
The Griffin was on fire yesterday, so much enthusiasm and cheers for the occasion. The Hennessy Privilege Awards is the brand's most prestigious honor. The award represents mastery, strength and sophistication: ideals embodied by The House of Hennessy. Past recipients of the Hennessy Privilege Award include Kanye West, Emilio Estefan, Patti La Belle, George Lopez, Andy Garcia, and Magic Johnson.
