Carly Rae Jepsen cancels Boy Scouts of America Jamboree: ‘Equality for all’

Carly Rae Jepsen just added her voice to a topic that the Boy Scouts of America are discussing. After shelving the decision of whether or not to allow gays in the clubs across America, the Boy Scouts just had a popular artist bail on a concert and then point out the rules of the clubs had are still unfair to some individuals. In what had to be a surprise for the Boy Scouts, Carly Rae Jepsen has decided not to perform at the annual Jamboree and announced in on Twitter Tuesday.

“As an artist who believes in equality for all people, I will not be participating in the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree this summer,” tweeted Carly Rae Jepsen from her official Twitter account. “I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level and stay informed on the ever changing landscape in the ongoing battle for gay rights in this country and across the globe.”

While Carly Rae Jepsen is currently in London on the Believe Tour, he decision has been heard around the world. With the Boy Scouts still not resolving the issue of who can be part of the clubs, the issue seemed to die down. Now that Jepsen is pulling out, people are revisiting the issue of gay members being allowed and many people are still asking why not.
