Carlton Daily Twentieth Century antiques has closed permanently. They were located at 208 King St. in the Antiques District of King St., near Market St. Albert Parker was the manager.
They sold an interesting mix of things mostly “mid-century” stylish mirrors, lighting and art. There was no other shop like theirs in Charleston. They will be missed.
It is unfortunate that there is so much wrong and out-of-date information on the Internet. This causes antique shoppers a lot of problems when they plan to go places and find out the hard way that the shop they are interested in, like Carlton Daily, is out of business. Many websites will continue to list them at that address. For the latest information on antique shops in Charleston, SC and what they have today, www.clydeantique.com is the best source of accurate information.
Since King St. has been designated one of the best streets to shop in the country, and since Charleston is attracting more antique shops and antique collectors, it is very likely to be replaced by another high-end antique shop, who knows what will be next.
