Hollywood Reporter reported on Tuesday that Lost's Carlton Cuse and screenwriter Ryan Condal are spearheading a TV adaptation of Oni Press’ comic series The Sixth Gun for NBC. NBC ordered a pilot on Tuesday. Ryan Condal, the writer attached to the upcoming feature film adaptation of "Hercules: The Thracian Wars", is familiar with adapting comic book properties and will be writing the script. Carlton Cuse will be the executive producer and showrunner for the series.
Universal TV and Oni's production company Closed on Mondays Entertainment are producing the TV adaptation. The story takes place in the Wild West and revolves around the existence of six mythical guns. Becky Montcrief, a young innocent girl, gets her hands on the Sixth Gun, the most powerful of the six guns, and finds herself a target of dark forces who would stop at nothing to get their hands on the mythical gun.
